Top 12 Emo/Punk Albums, February 2014

With the Q4 drought behind us, the punk/emo release schedule is finally warming up. The regular stable of Warped Tour-ready rock is represented with new efforts from Bayside and We Are the In Crowd, the latter of which receives a well-rounded sonic upgrade courtesy of Goldfinger singer (and producer du jour) John Feldmann. Elsewhere, metalcore stars Of Mice and Men impact the mainstream in a big way with Restoring Force, and The Gaslight Anthem open the vault for The B-Sides, a collection that includes a cover of Pearl Jam's "State of Love and Trust" alongside rare cuts and acoustic versions of their own songs.

And don't forget about the young guns: You Blew It! enlist Into It. Over It.'s Evan Weiss to play bass on their earnest emo gem Keep Doing What You're Doing; Philly upstarts Modern Baseball distill Say Anything-style neurosis into You're Gonna Miss It All. And, perhaps most encouraging of all, new discs from vets like Against Me! and The Lawrence Arms prove punk isn't just a young person's game -- these long-running groups have no intentions of slowing down anytime soon.
