Willie and Merle didn't consciously look to recreate the magic of their 1983 collaboration Pancho & Lefty -- it just happened naturally on 2015's Django & Jimmie. The title cut is a heartfelt tribute to heroes Django Reinhardt and Jimmie Rodgers ("There might not have been a Merle or Willie, if not for Django and Jimmie"), but on "It's All Going to Pot," the two get downright silly while exchanging some of the best one-liners set to music. Friendship is also the theme running through highlights such as "The Only Man Wilder Than Me," "Missing Ol' Johnny Cash" and "Unfair Weather Friend."
