There are far worse artists to rip off than David Bowie (David Coverdale, for example). White Whale are down with Bowie's rock theatricality, and they also dig the trippy sensationalism of the Doors. And could it possibly be a coincidence that a band with a penchant for epic group sing-alongs and triumphant choruses is label mates with the Arcade Fire? Who can say? Bottom line is this is a wonderful, careening slab of jilted pop goodness.
