Unfortunately Wet Willie is all too often remembered only for the radio staple that is the title cut here, and people tend to write off southern rock in general as drankin' redneck music. But Wet Willie's dedication to the ancient moves of deep soul is what really set them apart from the pack. No other southern band put together such swinging, sweaty, whiteboy funk. "Lucy Was In Trouble" is as good as anything by Hot Chocolate, and we will fight anyone who disagrees.
