Dicristina Stair Builders
Although Vetiver's 2004 debut was rightfully associated with the likes of all things freaky and folky, the band's second LP finds them picking up the twangy pieces that San Francisco's the Court & Spark dropped on their way to following in Jeff Tweedy's neurotic footsteps. To Find Me Gone basks in sun-flared, West Coast canyon twang of the early '70s. Cellos and acoustic arpeggios still abound, but lazy pedal steel and mercurial harmonies overflow here like smoke from Devendra Banhart's wizard pipe.
