Buffalo Gal (1977 Overdubbed & Remixed Version)
Neither of Thin Lizzy's first couple albums is a "Thin Lizzy album." The band had yet to develop its product, which is an understatement, actually. To be honest, they're all over the map. Shades of a Blue Orphanage, from 1972, contains some proggy tendencies, folkish stuff, vague funk, '50s nostalgia, boogie rock and Woodstock soul a la Van Morrison. Inconsistency abounds, but "Brought Down" is an impassioned Brit blues rock beast, and "Chatting Today" is the Dylan of heavy metal slowly awakening.
