As The Knife proved on their Shaking the Habitual tour, they're much more than an electro-pop act, and their repertoire is much more than a collection of recognizable beats and melodies. Here, they present reworked versions similar to those of their live shows. An uncanny air prevails: Out of strange, rubbery thumps and thickets of buzz, familiar shapes materialize and disappear. Drum circles and drum machines dominate, and their synths seem to have been replaced by rubber bands. The whole thing is a thrillingly odd portrait of the most creative pop act on the planet.
