The opener "Homecoming Heroes" is fantastic; not only does this folksome six-piece have songwriting gravitas but they know how to write a melody. "Another Story" is an elegy for school-shooting victims that hints at Fleet Foxes and Mumford and Sons. And the way an intro like "Springtime" cannonballs into the synth honky-tonk of "Summertime" is pretty Arcade Fire or Beach House. The dreamy production, sun-licked harmonies and groovy forward motion of this second album all dare you to take this promising band's name at its word: They go for the head first before they tug at the ventricles.
