About The Autumn Offering
Daytona Beach new wave of American death metal band The Autumn Offering sprouted up in 1999. They crisscrossed the U.S. on self-booked tours and released one album on Stillborn before making the switch to Victory Records in 2005. Combining hardcore brutality with elements of power and death metal, growled and sung vocals, a bleak lyrical outlook and the occasional perfectly placed hook, the band fits in well with fellow death-metal progenitors Lamb of God and As I Lay Dying. Even more encouraging is the Floridian quintet's prominent love for the vaunted Swedish Gothenburg scene (think At the Gates, The Haunted). Their first record, Revelations of the Unsung, surfaced in 2004. Victory Records offerings Embrace the Gutter, Fear Will Cast No Shadow and Requiem followed, and The Autumn Offering appeared in 2010.
