Here we have a stripped-down, bruisingly intimate live album from Canada's most famous twin-sister art-pop duo, with big-room airiness and some light applause the only indications that this wasn't recorded in a musty bedroom smack in the midst of a wrenching lover's quarrel. ("I am disappointed every morning I wake up," is a killer opening line.) The jaunty, catchy piano of "Back in Your Head" is splendidly discordant; the desperate, somber drive of "Nineteen" is your most cathartic moment. No goofy stage banter -- it'd only break the spell.
