Tamia must not believe in breakup songs. "I'll do anything for my man," she testifies on the frankly erotic "Lipstick," a message that she repeats through most of Love Life. But at least she's using more rhythmic arrangements than the adult contemporary malaise of 2012's Beautiful Surprise, making for a lively showcase for her chameleonic voice. She can bop like Mariah Carey on "Love Falls Over Me," and coo like Ciara on "Nowhere." And if the lyrics aren't quite convincing -- one number weaves around a "Chaise Lounge" -- at least you can't doubt her talent and sincerity.
