The band's second full-length, Bad Moon Rising, may not have the surf-rockers and psyche-noise breakdowns that made Sister one of the best albums of the '80s underground movement or the damaged melodicism of Evol, but "Brave Men Run (In my Family)" has aged better than most of their early music. That said, "Ghost B*tch" hasn't aged so well. But the sound collages that string the pieces together, plus Moore and Ranaldo's always-awesome guitar playing and the overall sense of foreboding, perfectly encapsulate who Sonic Youth were in 1985 -- about the coolest kids in NYC.
