Goatees, glasses, flannel, receding hairlines -- as metal trios go, Sandrider have a clear hipster air. They're also true to their Seattle home, with unmistakable echoes of pre-Geffen Nirvana in their heavy slop-pop, and probably the Melvins too even if near-dirges like "Traveler" and the title track aren't quite slow enough. They open the set clap-stomping Queen's "We Will Rock You" beat into a drone, before hiding muffled melodies inside the muck, Torche-style. The shouty if somehow subdued "Champions" is almost comprehensibly constructed, and "Beast" sports a reasonably beastly riff.
