After ditching his band, his label and the hallmark sensitivity that earned his "The Weary Kind" an Oscar, Tomorrowland -- filled with distorted guitars, gritty vocals and a kind of loner stoicism -- is a bold move forward for Ryan Bingham. Though the songs might not have the heart-rending grip of some of his more delicate work, Bingham's indignant rage ("Guess Who's Knockin'," "Rising of the Ghetto") makes for some boot-stomping country rock. Even when Bingham lets loose, as on the slide guitar-backed "Heart of Rhythm," he still seems like the guy in the bar you don't want to mess with.
