Golden Earth Girl
Label: Paul McCartney Catalog
After concentrating on a foray into classical composing that yielded the Liverpool Oratorio, McCartney returned to the successful elements of Flowers In The Dirt for this 1993 LP using a similar band and songs co-written with Elvis Costello. The LP benefits by leaving the '80s aesthetic behind, giving "Biker like an Icon" and "Hope of Deliverance" an undecorated directness. The indignant anti-animal abuse dictum "Looking for Changes" might not be a highlight, but "Golden Earth Girl" is every bit as warm and sunny as the title might suggest.
