Bulevar 2000 (Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich+Fussible)
Label: Nacional Records
Bostich and Fussible, the black-hatted cowboy and droopy-haired hipster, respectively, have become Nortec's poster boys, peddling electro-banda to crowds of adoring gringos. They stretch out on Bulevar 2000, bringing in Loquat's Kylee Swenson to add something sinuous to "I Count the Ways" and even ditching the dance beats on the meditative, accordion-and-guitar-brushed "Last View from Slussen." When you hear the sweet, doo-wop strains of "Must Love," it becomes clear two romantics lurk inside these iPad-wielding wizards of the dancefloor, and that both avatars have their place.
