From The Lion's Mouth

Blue-eyed soul (emphasis on the blue eyes) chanteuse Nedelle's songs have a swing in their step that evokes classic soul, but remembers it through the lens of coffee shop jazz and acoustic indie pop. Paired with Nedelle's at once childlike and sensuous soprano, her music often sounds like it was made by a '60s girl group, minus the group. Her second solo album is a little more singer-songwriter, a little less soul than either her debut or Summerland, her buoyant collaboration with Thom Moore, but it's still as sweet and satisfying as honey.
