Flesh And Bones Electric Fun
Label: Teleprompt/Warner Records
Mute Math's ethereal, experimental rock could be the love child of U2 and the Flaming Lips: Under their boundless synthetic genius lie surprisingly radio-ready hooks. Those hooks are the only clue that these are the songs from their debut LP, just electrified, live, and occasionally instrumental. Highlights are a toss-up, as the band masters the moody and ambient ("Stall Out") just as well as the Brit-popped and distorted ("Noticed").
