The Way Of The World
Mose Allison returns to the studio after more than a decade with all of his strengths intact: whip-smart songs, razor-sharp wit, rollicking jazz piano and backwoods blues. Allison is not mellowing with age; he tackles the unfair effects of growing old as slyly as he does the unexplainable actions of his fellow man. A couple of cuts ("Let It Come Down" and "Everybody Thinks You're an Angel") come off a bit too shambling and off-kilter, but overall he is still operating on all cylinders. "I'm Alright," "My Brain" and the title track will definitely be added to the Allison songbook.
