Wash All Over Me
Madonna's lucky 13 is a sprawling, 19-track symphony veering between declarations of resilience (that's the rebel part) and acknowledging susceptibility (that's the heart part). The rebel anthems are plenty fun, from double-entendre skit "Body Shop" to a Nicki Minaj guest spot where the two stars gleefully pop tops in the club elevator. But the quieter numbers work, too, especially when Madge admits that even rebels cry (a starkly confessional "Joan of Arc"). For those who prefer the Material Girl at her most outrageous, proceed directly to "Holy Water." No, I won't tell you what it's about.
