In 2007 hip-hop circled the wagons and Little Brother (who've spent a good part of their career knocking other rappers) took on critics of hip-hop. On the track "Sirens," Phonte quips, "Like before Kool Herc, everything was alright/ Like y'all wasn't calling black women hos before 'Rappers Delight'." LB have always been amiable revolutionaries, and the best tracks here (including single "Good Clothes" and their collaboration with Lil' Wayne, "Breakin' My Heart") marry appealing old-school production work to inspirational, day-in-the-life vignettes. Despite the departure of 9th Wonder, Little Brother stay strong.
