The Kid's first album, originally released in 1990, definitely sounds dated but it's still kinda tight. Less rock-oriented than his later work but still full of lyrical boasting and small town pimp stylings, it was pretty much ignored upon its release, which led Jive to drop Rock from the label. Eight years later he became a multiplatinum star.
