Seems Like I'm Always Waiting for You
Label: Chapter Music
This reissue is long overdue, as it compiles two albums that are essential listening for any fan of lo-fi folk, freak folk, outsider folk, etc. In the early 1980s Bloom and Connors released a string of albums, including Sing the Children Over and Sand in My Shoe, that documented the pair's love for vintage folk-blues revivalism and avant-garde bedroom recordings. Though Connors and Bloom never totally deconstruct the folk tune, they do sound as if they're about to dissolve at any given moment.
