In Concert On Broadway
This concert, filmed for the PBS series Great Performances, can also serve as a summation of Harry Connick, Jr.'s musical career to date. The set is made up of a mix of standards, self-penned material and New Orleans rave-ups. Likewise, equal space is given to Connick's strengths as a Sinatra-style crooner, a bandleader and a Monk- and Booker-inspired jazz pianist. Everything comes together on the delightful recasting of "Besame Mucho," while the Mardi Gras tunes at the finale turn the polite crowd of strangers into a celebratory group of friends.
