They're still fond of Scandinavian folk music's minor keys -- most obviously in the cascading, two-part, seven-minute "Son of the Last Breath" -- but slotting this burly Stockholm power trio as doom metal no longer rings true. Their songs are faster and easier to tell apart than before, and there's plenty of Norse mythology: Valhalla, Valkyries, Thor. The entire album charts some kind of bloody snow-slaughter battle beneath the moon, complete with wolves and maybe a yeti. Vengeance is theirs -- but more importantly, so are majestic choruses, thunderous hooks and lightning-riding riffs.
