Largo - E quindi sui fiorito ameno prato...*
The programming of this album is a nod to postmodern juxtaposition, but hear it out. Piazzolla's Vivaldi-inspired The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires (1964-1970) was rescored for Vivaldi's orchestra, and each movement points back to the Baroque master's work. Kremer's deft violin playing stitches it all together with delicacy, panache and endlessly inventive nuance. It is a truly "musical" performance and an inspired pairing.
