Archivos de Mi Vida
Label: Del records
Could it be? Could the swashbuckling, sh*t-kicking bad boy who's made a career of burning up the regional (and pop) charts and getting into lyrical (and literal) fights be ... settling down? Archivos is a plucky, peppy collection that goes down smooth and almost sweet, whether Ortiz is swinging around the dancefloor (the exhilarating -- but like in a first-date way, instead of a gun-to-your-head way -- "Y Me Besa") or huskily, almost humbly crooning ("Perdóname"). He's still a force to be reckoned with to be sure, but think more cold, refreshing cerveza than biting shot of mezcal.
