About George Adams

Blistering Bebop runs and tenor sax squeals from this veteran leader of the Avant Garde Jazz scene. Performing with Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner and especially Charles Mingus has lent Adams' playing a sense of freedom and humor; it can be calm and bluesy or, alternately, shriek like Pharoah Sanders after an unfortunate dental appointment.
