Time To Die
Label: Spinefarm Records UK
Structured around recurring excerpts from a 1985 20/20 documentary about a teenage-druggie devil-worship murder, with eerie church organ and black-mass baptismal water serving as additional bookends, Time To Die is the kind of stoner-doom you can soak in like a cozy tar-pit bubble bath. It just plain feels good -- the riffs are as obsessively heavy duty as any out there, swarming like winter-storm ravens overhead in "I Am Nothing," wah-wahing unto Hawkwind heaven in "Funeral of Your Mind." Repeated slogans ("I wanna get high before I die") supplement the tabloid trash, luring you deeper still.
