I Love You, Dude
Label: [PIAS] Cooperative
Some listeners may be asking themselves, "Dude, where's my carnage?" Where Digitalism's 2007 debut, Idealism, could hammer as hard as the best of their electro brethren, here they ease up on the bombast, indulging themselves in cleaner sounds and sweet, relatively straightforward pop pleasures like "2 Hearts," on which they could pass for Coldplay's only slightly tougher younger brothers. Still, stompers like "Blitz" and "Reeperbahn" will rock festival tents to the ground, while the buzzing "Antibiotics" balances out the dreamy "Just Gazin'," which might almost pass for an Air outtake.
