Black Aria II
Label: Evilive Records
Danzig's long-awaited second offering of spooky classical music is a conceptual exploration of Lilith, the mythical first wife of Adam. Tolling bells, low chants that are felt more than heard and highly ritualized percussion are all draped in a muffled blackness, creating truly weird atmospheres. Less goth metal than its predecessor, Black Aria II has more in common with the animalistic Satanism of French black metal duo Abruptum than anything Danzig has ever done before, or even the "horrorcore" he is considered the father of.
