That Something In My Life
Label: Blacktop Records
You know an album is going to get sappy when you hear wind chimes in the first song. In Clint Black's case, this is not a bad thing. The Love Songs may appear as a compilation of the man's more romantic recordings, but Black actually went into the studio and re-cut all his best, albeit least twangy, ballads. That's how strong his love is. To make things delightfully mushier, his wife Lisa Hartman-Black duets on the opener, but the real gem here is a heartwarming cover of Jim Croce's "I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song."
