Nothin' But the Cooler Left
Label: Rca Records Label Nashville
Listen to Chris Young's title tracks -- his last album's "Neon," an ode to the lights that illuminate at night, and this album's "A.M.," a salute to nights that continue into early mornings -- and you'll get the impression that he's one of country music's rowdiest. That may be true, but his fourth album matches those party songs (of which "Nothin' But the Cooler Left" is the most endearing) with tunes about looking to find love and settling down, three of them asking for a second chance, the rest just looking for a first. "Text Me Texas" is the most desperate; "Goodbye" the most promising.
