Coco Beware
Caveman

FAT POSSUM
A stunning debut from this Brooklyn quintet, Coco Beware glistens with sunny multi-part guitar workouts and vocal harmonies. The ghost of The Beach Boys always hovers, but keep in mind, this is the product of stout New Yorkers. So while there are big tribal beats, distorted guitars and choirboy croons, there's also a dark spirit lurking just beneath the surface (see: "Vampirer" and "My Room"). But mostly Caveman soak in the same psychedelic sun that makes bands like Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective positively sizzle, as heard on "Great Life," "December 28th" and the mesmerizing "Easy Water."
