Diana Krall isn't the only blonde Canadian who plays jazz piano and sings standards. Carol Welsman has enjoyed a lengthy, parallel career, though she hasn't found the same success in the U.S.A. as Krall has. The two actually share bizarrely similar voices (as did June Christy and Chris Connor in the 1950s), though Welsman is the more extroverted vocalist. Her three original tunes, which include the title track, stand up to the standards.
