Man On The Run
Label: Zuma Rock Records
Though Bush are one of the architects of post-grunge, the British act's music has always boasted an art-rock vibe that set them apart from American bros Stone Temple Pilots and Candlebox. In this regard, Man on the Run isn't terribly different from previous efforts. Sounding a tad less indebted to grunge (though still a cross between Catherine Wheel and Pearl Jam for the most part), Gavin Rossdale and company stomp through one existential woe after another, from "Just Like My Other Sins" to "Loneliness Is a Killer." Not surprisingly, hooks take a backseat to brooding atmosphere and big riffs.
