Burning Airlines debut from 1999 showcases the band's ability to create pop music out of genuine aggression and emotion. Not that this is all sunshine choruses, but there is a definite pop structure appearing throughout the record -- one that opens up the band to a wider appeal than one would expect out of band made up of members of Jawbox and Government Issue.
