Revolutions Of The Machine (Intro) (Live From Germany/2011)
Label: J&R Adventures
For a bunch of aging shredders who met up at the Guitar Center in Los Angeles, Black Country Communion totally bring it. On this live album -- recorded in Germany, where classic-rock veterans still play for massive audiences -- they slay most stoner-rock brats half their age. Listen to Glenn Hughes' bass on "The Outsider"; the Deep Purple icon unleashes the kind of four-string boogie-metal attack that seemingly died with the 1970s. In all honesty, the band's songwriting ain't so hot, but they know how to groove, pummel, mug and ride riffs late into the night. What else do you need, really?
