Released:
Label: J&R Adventures
Black Country Communion is a supergroup led by guitar maestro Joe Bonamassa and featuring former Deep Purple howler/bassist Glenn Hughes, drummer Jason Bonham and ex-Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian. Though Bonamassa's roots lie in the blues scene, B.C.C. is a full-throttled throwback to the mighty mid-1970s, an utterly righteous blend of boogie, classic rock and even proto-metal. At its most intense -- "Black Country," "Down Again" and the 11-minute epic "Too Late For the Sun" -- the group sounds like the riff-worshipping offspring of Montrose and Cactus. That's 100% killer.
