This collection of playful jazz, sung mostly in her native tongue, is a career outlier for Bjork, recorded in 1990 between her days with the Sugar Cubes and her popular solo career. The accompaniment of the Trio Guomundar Ingolfssonar is skillful but square, fairing better on the Latin numbers. But even if they don't swing too hard, it hardly matters; Bjork's amazing vocal acrobatics steal the show. The shuffling "Litli Tonlistarmadurinn" and "Kata Rokkar" are deep-cut gems, and, just to be nice, she caps things with a pair of English standards in "Ruby Baby" and "I Can't Help Loving that Man."
