Ready, Set, Don't Go

It's hard to think about Billy Ray Cyrus without remembering how his bygone mullet inspired the hairdos of many a carnival worker and river lesbian, but all things achy and breaky aside, Home At Last sounds as if the '90s never happened. The songs are earthy and rootsy, with acoustic guitars, pianos, vintage amplifiers and the warm grind of a Hammond organ. Most of these cuts are Americana ballads and soft rockers that sound like they were produced by John Mellencamp. The endearing cover of Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl sounds like it was sung by the Coug himself.
