Born in Madrid in 1989, Belinda Peregrin Schull moved with her family to Mexico City, where by age 10 she was starring on TV. The show, Amigos X Siempre, and a companion soundtrack CD were a huge success. Two other hit series on the Televisa network followed. Already a star for the Mexican teen audience, Belinda recorded a solo album, Belinda when she was 13, which sold close to a million copies. She performed for 120,000 people in Mexico City's Zocolo. In 2007, she received two Latin Grammy nominations for her second album, Utopia and she was the top nominee for MTV's Premios Latinoamerica, up for awards in five categories, including best pop artist, best solo artist and artist of the year.
