After a four-year hiatus (not counting the Christmas album Home for the Holidays), Anthony Hamilton is apparently feeling many things. “Save Me” finds him resurrecting the slick funk-rock of late-period Funkadelic, and the title track would resemble vintage soul if not for its steady drum pulse. “Never Letting Go” is an acoustic folk-pop number ornamented by pianos, and he asks us to empathize with him on the gumbo-thick ballad “Walk a Mile in My Shoes.” What I’m Feelin’ sounds like a '70s R&B album with its mix of pop styles. While Hamilton sacrifices artistic consistency with his fitful approach, he generates more than a few keepers in the process.
