About Andrew Odom
Andrew "Big Voice" Odom was essentially a journeyman Chicago blues singer best known outside that city for his work with Jimmy Dawkins and virtuoso slide guitarist Earl Hooker. Odom's only full length record under his own name wasn't released until after his death in the early 90's, but he recorded a handful of singles for small Chicago labels that are prized by collectors more for their rarity than for any musical revelations they might hold. He was also known as "B.B." Odom for his singing's more-than-passing resemblance to that of his idol B.B. King. Odom's work with Earl Hooker is funky and cool, and well worth seeking out.
