When the temperature rises, so does the tempo. And, whether you prefer your punk rock in a commercial setting like the Vans Warped Tour or at a sweaty, small club, there are plenty of pit-starters to enjoy as summer nears. Pop-punk-stars-in-the-making The Wonder Years close a three-part series on growing up with The Greatest Generation, a set featuring songs you'll surely hear on Warped's main stage. Elsewhere, noise punkers NK, fresh off a stint opening for Fall Out Boy, roar through the cacophonous Nothing to Be Gained Here, and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong lends a hand to Emily's Army, a band featuring his son on drums. There are a few curveballs along the way, though, like the Top 40-calibrated album from This Century and the dreamy, moody pop of Eisley's Currents. Plus, get a blast from the past as Rise Against dress up their landmark album RPM for its 10th anniversary.
