Artist Spotlight: Sara Bareilles

With the recent release of her fourth full-length, The Blessed Unrest, and lead single "Brave" currently climbing the charts, Sara Bareilles has once again proven that she is one of pop's standout singers and songwriters. Though we music critics frequently compare her to fellow balladeers A Fine Frenzy, Ingrid Michaelson and Regina Spektor, what sets Bareilles apart is her soulful and decidedly robust vocal delivery. Indeed, it was a delicious slice of irony that her 2007 breakout album was titled Little Voice because it's anything but, especially on her signature hits: "Love Song," "Bottle It Up," "King of Anything" and "Uncharted."

But it's not just Bareilles' devoted fans who are smitten with her unique vocals; her fellow entertainers are as well. After all, over the course of the last six years, she has made a slew of cameo appearances on recordings from the likes of Jon McLaughlin (["Summer Is Over"]), OneRepublic ("Come Home"), Marc Broussard ("Why Should She Wait") and the one and only Seth MacFarlane ("Love Won't Let You Get Away"). Yet the singer's most popular collaboration to date is "Winter Song," the duet with Ingrid Michaelson that's sure to become a holiday standard in the coming years.
