There's a really good reason why Live At Leeds is considered by many to be rock's greatest live document. This is because it's brutally raw, heavy, loud and chaotic; it's hard rock, punk and heavy metal all wrapped into one. The myth is that The Who, touring in support of the rock opera Tommy, wanted to release a live album proving they, and not Led Zeppelin or Mountain or Cactus or whoever, were the reigning kings of bombastic rock 'n' roll. Whether or not that story is true doesn't really matter when "Young Man Blues" comes around and it feels like Keith Moon is kicking in your skull.
