About The Narrator

Even though none of their members are originally from Chicago, the Narrator embodies that city's adoration of the brilliant and brittle rock underground. Singer/guitarist Sam Axelrod, bassist James Barron, singer/guitarist Jesse Woghin and drummer Nate Heneghan formed the band in 2002. They issued the Youth City Fire debut in 2004 on Flameshovel, a label co-founded by Woghin, and followed it two years later with Such Triumph. Heneghan left the band before the recording of 2007's All That to the Wall and was eventually replaced by drummer Kevin Vlack. The band enjoys bowling.
