Released:
Label: Jungle Records
This legendary album went virtually unheard upon its release in 1977, partially because of bad distribution but also because the original mix was said to be awful. Over the years, various versions have surfaced and L.A.M.F. The Lost '77 Mixes is generally considered to be the best of the bunch. For the uninitiated, the Heartbreakers were a NYC '77 band formed by Johnny Thunders and Richard Hell (who left before these recordings were made). The songs "Chinese Rocks," "Born To Lose" and "Can't Keep My Eyes On You" are where Johnny's junkie punk genius legacy came from.
