Love Grenade finds the Nuge still tapped into his seemingly endless fount of indiscriminate bird-flipping, guitar-terrorizing angst. For anybody who grew up on the Motor City Madman's shenanigans -- which include flaming crossbows shooting fake deer at his concerts -- it's hard to remain totally unmoved by songs which mainly involve Nugent shouting "f**k you" over screaming guitar solos or growling about how much he likes to, uh, eat Girl Scout cookies. (Shudder.) The Nuge is certifiably nuts. But anybody who can write "I'm on the frontlines of love / Jump in a foxhole with me" and not be a member of Spinal Tap deserves some kind of credit.
